Saul William Goldberg’s artistic journey is an evolution that began amidst the bustling streets of Manhattan, where he was born and raised. Armed with a degree in Studio Arts from Manhattanville College, Saul now calls Fairfield County, Connecticut his creative sanctuary. His artistic spirit is unbounded, seeking expression through a myriad of mediums.
Saul’s initial foray into the world of art saw him capturing the dynamic essence of New York City through the lens of a 35mm camera. He had an innate knack for framing cityscapes and candid moments of fellow New Yorkers. As the digital age emerged, Saul seamlessly transitioned into the realm of digital photography, where he contemplated the power of moving images. He once posed a thought-provoking question to a photographer friend: “If a picture is worth a thousand words, then how many words does a motion picture contain?” This question led Saul on a path of creative exploration that saw him join a prestigious video post-production company in New York City as an assistant editor. Here, he honed his craft and delved into the intricate world of commercial advertising. As his expertise grew, Saul felt the call to embark on his entrepreneurial journey, giving birth to his very own video production and post-production company, aptly named Saul Goldberg Studios LLC.
Yet, throughout his professional endeavors, Saul’s artistic heart never ceased to beat with a passion for fine art. His artistic curiosity thrived in an array of mediums and styles, but a profound connection led him back to his true love: acrylic paint on canvas. In the world of large abstract pieces, Saul discovered his sanctuary. He aptly describes his creative process as translating his mind onto canvas, with action painting as the vehicle to breathe life into his works of art.
Saul’s artistic pursuits transcend the allure of money, recognition, or fame. Instead, his creations are an offering to the world, a shared experience between the artist and the observer. In his own words, “I don’t do art for money, recognition, or fame… I do it for you and me.”
